Did you lighten some load or some progress impede, Did you look for a rose, or just gather a weed? What did you do with your beautiful day,

God gave it to you, did you throw it away? 

I Said a Prayer for You Today

I said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard; I felt the answer in my heart although He spoke not a word. I didn't ask for wealth or fame (I knew you wouldn't mind), I asked for priceless treasures rare of a more lasting kind. I prayed that He'd be near to you at the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings fair, and friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you in all things great and small, but that you'd know His loving care I prayed the most of all. 

Prayer to Obtain the Grace of All Masses

Eternal Father we humbly offer Thee our poor presence and that of the whole of humanity from the beginning to the end of the world at all the Masses that ever have or ever will be prayed.

We offer Thee all the pains, suffering, prayers, sacrifices, joys and relaxations of our lives, in union with those of our dear Lord Jesus here on earth.

May the Most Precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood and wounds and agony save us, through the sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.  

A Prayer for Protection

O My God, I adore You and I love You with all my heart. I thank You for having created me, for having made me a Christian and for having watched over me this day. Pardon me for the evil I have done this day; and if I have done any good, deign to accept it. Watch over me while I take my rest and deliver me from danger. May Your grace be always with me. Amen. 

The Evening Prayer

O my God, at the end of this day I thank You most heartily for all the graces I have received from You. I am sorry that I have not made a better use of them. I am sorry for all the sins I have committed against You. Forgive me, O my God, and graciously protect me this night. Blessed Virgin Mary, my dear heavenly mother, take me under your protection. St. Joseph, my dear Guardian Angel, and all you saints of God, pray for me. Sweet Jesus, have pity on all poor sinners, and save them from hell. Have mercy on the suffering souls in purgatory. 

An Evening Visit

Be with us, Lord, tonight. Stay to adore and praise, and give thanks for us while we sleep; to draw down mercy and grace upon the world; to give strength to the suffering souls in purgatory in their long night of waiting.

Stay with us, to ward off the anger of God from our crowded cities with their dens of vice, their crimes that call to Heaven for vengeance.

Stay with us, to guard the innocent, to sustain the tempted, to raise the fallen, to curb the power of the evil one, to prevent sin.

Stay with us, to comfort the sorrowing, to bless the death-beds, to grant contrition to the dying, to receive into the arms of Your mercy the thousands that this night must come before You for judgment.

O Good Shepherd, stay with Your sheep. Secure them against the perils that beset them. Stay, above all, with the suffering and dying. Grant us a quiet night and a perfect end. Be our merciful Shepherd to the last, that without fear we may appear before You as our Judge. 

St. Augustine Evening Prayer

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch or weep tonight, and give Your Angels and Saints charge over those who sleep.

Tend Your sick one, O Lord Christ.

Rest Your weary ones,

Bless Your dying ones,

Soothe Your suffering ones,

Pity Your afflicted ones,

Shield Your joyous ones,

And all for Your love's sake. Amen. 

Prayer for the Faithful Departed

O Lord Jesus Christ, King of glory, deliver the souls of all the faithful departed from the pains of hell and from the bottomless pit; deliver them from the lion's mouth, that hell not swallow them up, that they fall not into darkness, but let the holy standard bearer Michael bring them into that holy light which You promised to Abraham and his seed. Amen.

A Prayer at Night

I adore you, my God, and thank you for having created me, for having made me a Christian and preserved me this day. I love you with all my heart and I am sorry for having sinned against you, because you are infinite Love and infinite Goodness. Protect me during my rest and may your love be always with me. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ in atonement for my sins and for all the intentions of our Holy Church.

Holy Spirit, Love of the Father and the Son, purify my heart and fill it with the fire of your Love, so that I may be a chaste Temple of the Holy Trinity and be always pleasing to you in all things. Amen.

St. Alphonsus Night Prayer

Jesus Christ, my God, I adore You and I thank You for the many favors You have bestowed on me this day. I offer You my sleep and all the moments of this night, and I pray You to preserve me from sin. Therefore, I place myself in Your most sacred side, and under the mantle of our Blessed Lady, my Mother. May the holy angels assist me and keep me in peace, and may Your blessing be upon me. 

Prayer for the Home

We beseech You, O Lord, visit this home, and drive far from it all the snares of the enemy; let Your holy angels dwell therein so as to preserve us in peace; and let Your blessing be always upon us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 

Prayer to the Guardian Angel

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this night be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.
