Carrying the Cross:

Our Lord Jesus Christ carried the heavy Cross, laid on His sacred shoulders for His greater suffering.

O most sorrowful mother, Mary, I meditate on the mystery of the agony of the carrying of the cross. With the heavy wood of the cross upon His shoulders, your Divine Son was dragged, weak and suffering, yet patient, through the streets, while being mocked by the people. He fell often but was urged along by the cruel blows of His executioners.
