Prayer of Petition 

St. Therese, beloved friend, you promised to spend your heaven doing good upon earth. We come before you in our need. We believe that you listen to us and approach God for and with us. You are love in the heart of the Church. You are love in the heart of God. Please accept these petitions, hopes, needs, and dreams I list below. Please present them to our Loving Father so that God may do what is best for us, for our loved ones, and for the fulfillment of God's Kingdom. Continue your shower of roses in our lives. We ask you, dear friend, with bold confidence and loving surrender you taught us. We make this prayerful request in the name of Jesus and through the power of His Spirit. (mention your request) 

Prayer of St. Therese of Jesus to the Holy Face 

O Jesus, who in Thy bitter Passion didst become "the most abject of men, a man of sorrows",  I venerate Thy Sacred Face whereon there once did shine the beauty and sweetness of the Godhead; but now it has become for me as if it were the face of a leper! Nevertheless, under those disfigured features, I recognize Thy infinite Love and I am consumed with the desire to love Thee and make Thee loved by all men. The tears which well up abundantly in Thy sacred eyes appear to me as so many precious pearls that I love to gather up, in order to purchase the souls of poor sinners by means of their infinite value. 

O Jesus, whose adorable Face ravishes my heart, I implore Thee to fix deep within me Thy Divine image and to set me on fire with Thy Love, that I may be found worthy to come to the contemplation of Thy glorious Face in Heaven.

Prayer of St. Therese of the Child Jesus  

O wondrous Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, who, in thy brief earthly life, didst become a mirror of angelic purity, of courageous love and of whole-hearted surrender to Almighty God, now that thou art enjoying the reward of thy virtues, turn thine eyes of mercy upon us who trust in thee.  

Obtain for us the grace to keep our hearts and minds pure and clean like unto thine, and to detest in all sincerity whatever might tarnish ever so slightly the luster of a virtue so sublime, a virtue that endears us to they heavenly Bridegroom.  

Ah, dear Saint, grant us to feel in every need the power of thy intercession; give us comfort in all the bitterness of this life and especially at its latter end, that we may be worthy to share eternal happiness with thee in paradise.

O Lord, who has said: "Unless you become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"; grant us, we beseech Thee, so to walk in the footsteps of thy blessed Virgin Therese with a humble and single heart, that we may attain to everlasting rewards: Who livest and reignest world without end.

Prayers to Honor St. Therese  

Dear Little Flower, make all things lead me to heaven and God. Whether I look at the sun, the moon, the stars and the vast expanse in which they float, or whether I look at the flowers of the field, the trees of the forest, the beauties of the earth so full of color and so glorious, may they speak to me of the love and power of God; may they all sing His praises in my ear.

Like you, may I daily love Him more and more in return for His gifts. Teach me often to deny myself in my dealings with others, that I may offer to Jesus many little sacrifices of love.

Dear Little St. Therese, by love and suffering while on earth you won the power with God you now enjoy in heaven. Since your life there began you have showered down countless blessings on this poor world. You have been the instrument made use of by your Divine Spouse to work countless miracles. I beg of you to remember all my wants. (mention your request)

Sufferings must come to me also, may I use them to love God more and follow my Jesus better. You are especially the little missionary of love. Make me love Jesus more and all others for His sake. With all my heart I thank the most Holy Trinity for the wonderful blessings conferred on you and upon the world through you. 

Intercede for us all the days of our lives and obtain for us from God the graces and favors we ask through your intercession.

Lord Jesus You said to us: Unless you become like little children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Help us to follow St. Therese on the road of simplicity, that we come to possess eternal blessings. You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit one God, forever and ever.  

Amen.  

O dear Little Saint now that you see the crucified Jesus in heaven still bearing the wounds caused by sin, you know still  more clearly than you did upon earth the value of souls, and the priceless worth of that Precious Blood, which He shed to save them. As I am one of those children for whom Christ died, obtain for me all the graces I need in order to profit by that Precious Blood. Use your power with our Divine Lord and pray for me.

Remember, O most gracious Little Flower your promise of never leaving any request made to you without an answer and of coming down to earth to do good. Full of confidence in your power with the Sacred Heart we implore your intercession in our need and beg of you to obtain the rose we so urgently request if such be God's Holy Will. (mention your request)

Saint Therese, Patroness of the Missions, be a great missionary throughout the world to the end of time, remind our Master of His words: "The harvest is great, but the laborers few." Your zeal for souls was so great obtain a like zeal for those now working for souls, and beg God to multiply their numbers, that the millions to whom Jesus is yet unknown, may be brought to know, love and follow Him.

Dear St. Therese, like you, I have to die one day. I beseech you, obtain from God, by reminding Him of your own precious death, that I may have a holy death, strengthened by the Sacraments of the Church, entirely resigned to the most holy will of God, and burning with love for Him.

May my last words on earth be "My God, I love You."

Saint Therese privileged Little Flower of Jesus and Mary I approach you with childlike confidence and deep humility. I lay before you my desires, and beg that through your intercession they may be realized. Did you not promise to spend your heaven doing good upon earth? Grant me according to this promise the favors I am asking from you. (mention your request)

O Little Martyr of Love you know now even better than in the days of your pilgrimage that love embraces all vocations: that it is love alone that counts, which unites us perfectly with God and conforms our will with His.

All you sought on earth was love; to love Jesus as He had never yet been loved. Use your power in heaven to make us love Him. If only we love Him we shall desire to make Him loved by others; we shall pray much for souls.

We shall no longer fear death, for it will unite us with Him forever. Obtain for us the grace to do all for the love of God, to give Him pleasure, to love Him so well that He may be pleased with us as He was with you.

O Little Flower of Jesus from the very first moment of your religious life you thought only of denying yourself in all things so as to follow Jesus perfectly; help me to bear patiently the trials of my daily life.

Teach me to make use of the trials, the sufferings, the humiliations, that come my way, to learn to know myself better and to love God more.  

Amen.  

St. Therese of the Child Jesus 

First, recite the prayer...  

O St. Therese of the Child Jesus, who during your short life on earth became a mirror of angelic purity, of love strong as death, and of wholehearted abandonment to God, now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues, cast a glance of pit on me as I leave all things in your hands.

Make my troubles your own, speak a word for me to Our Lady Immaculate, whose flower of special love you were to that Queen of Heaven "who smiled on you at the dawn of life." Beg her powerful intercession for the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment. (Mention your request) and that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life, defend me at the hour of death, and lead me straight on to a happy eternity.

PRAYER

Recite the following prayer before each day.

O God, who did inflame with the Spirit of Love, the soul of your servant Therese of the Child Jesus, grant that we also may love you and make you much loved.

DAY ONE  

O Therese of the Child Jesus, well beloved and full of charity, in union with you, I reverently adore the majesty of God, and since I rejoice with exceeding joy in the singular gifts of grace bestowed upon you during your life, and your gifts of glory after death, I give Him deepest thanks for them; I beseech you with all my heart’s devotion to be pleased to obtain for me. (mention your request)  

But if what I ask of you so earnestly does not tend to the glory of God and the greater good of my soul, do you, I pray, obtain for me that which is more profitable to both these ends.

Almighty God, giver of all good gifts, who did will that Blessed Therese, being watered by the heavenly dew of your guiding grace, should bloom in Carmel with the beauty of virginity and patience in suffering, grant that I your servant may go forward in the order of her sweetness and may be found worthy to become a devoted and loyal follower of Christ.

O Therese of the Child Jesus, lily of purity, ornament and glory of Carmel, I greet you, great saint, seraph of divine love. I rejoice in the favors our Lord so liberally bestowed on you. In humility and confidence I ask you to help me, for I know God has given you love and pity as well as power. Tell Him, now, I beseech you, of the favor I seek in this novena. (mention your request)  

Your request will crown my petition with success and bring joy to my heart. Remember your promise to do good here on earth. "I shall spend my heaven doing good on the Earth. After death I shall let fall a shower of roses."

O Little Flower of Jesus, who at an early age had your heart set on Carmel and in your brief earthly life did become the mirror of angelic purity, of courageous love and of whole hearted surrender to Almighty God, turn your eyes of mercy upon me who trusts in you. Obtain for me the favor I seek in this novena. (mention your request), and the grace to keep my heart and mind pure and clean. O dear saint, grant me to feel in every need the power of your intercession; help to comfort me in all the bitterness of this life and especially at its end, that I may be worth to share eternal happiness with you in heaven.

O Little Flower of Carmel, Almighty God endowed you, consumed by love for him, with wondrous spiritual strength to follow the way of perfection during the days of your short life. Sickness touched you early but you remained firm in faith and prayer was your life. O pray for me that I may benefit by your intercession and be granted the favor I ask in this novena. (mention your request)

DAY SIX  

O Little Flower of Jesus, you have shown yourself so powerful in your intercession, so tender and compassionate toward those who honor you and invoke you in suffering and distress, that I kneel at your feet with perfect confidence and beseech you most humbly and earnestly to take me under your protection in my present necessity and obtain for me the favor I ask in this novena. (mention your request)   

Vouchsafe to recommend my request to Mary, the merciful Queen of Heaven, that she may plead my cause with you before the throne of Jesus, her divine Son. Cease not to intercede for me until my request is granted.

Therese of the Child Jesus, most loving Saint, in union with you I adore the Divine Majesty. My heart is filled with joy at the remembrance of the marvelous favors with which God blessed your life on earth and of the great glory that came to you after death.

In union with you, I praise God, and offer Him my humble tribute of thanksgiving. I implore you to obtain for me, through your powerful intercession, the greatest of all blessings that of living and dying in the state of grace.

O glorious St. Therese, who, burning with the desire of increasing the glory of God, invariably attended to the sanctification of your soul by the constant practice of prayer and charity so that, becoming in the Church a model of holiness, you are now in Heaven the protector of all those who have recourse to you in faith, look down upon me who invokes your powerful patronage and join your petition to mine that I be granted the favor I seek in this novena. DAY NINE

O St. Therese, seraphic virgin, beloved spouse of our Crucified Lord, you who on earth did burn with a love so intense toward your God and my God, and now glow with a bright and purer flame in paradise, obtain for me, I beseech you, a spark of that same holy fire which shall help me to put things of the world in their proper place and live my life always conscious of the presence of God.

As I conclude my novena I also beg of you to secure for me the special favor I seek at this time. (mention your request)
