Prayer For Guidance In Career Choosing

Jesus, lover of the young, the dearest friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and help in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace that I may decide wisely concerning my future and be pleasing to You always. Amen.

Prayer For Vocations To Religious Life

O Lord Jesus Christ, strength of those who leave all things and follow You, raise up, we beg You, the vocations which the Church needs. Help our young boys to understand the happiness which comes to the priest as he carries on the work of Christ and brings God Himself to the altar for man. Inspire them with a burning desire to share in this priesthood.

Call other young men to our brotherhoods, where in the holy life of religious communities they may imitate Your virtues, carry on the educational, charitable and apostolic works of Your Church and travel toward eternal bliss.

Give us, dear Lord, zealous and apostolic priests, dedicated and self-sacrificing religious, brothers and sisters. Bless us abundantly with workers who will generously spend themselves for the restoration of all things in You and the glorification of Your heavenly Father, who, with You and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer That A Child May Be A Priest Or Religious

Blessed mother, Mary, the greatest joy and honor of a parent is to train their child, by word and example, to dedicate their entire life to loving your Son, Jesus. All of us are called to this love by whatever vocation we have. In the providence of God, I have been called to love God as a parent, and with your help and intercession, my child has grown to know and love God. I now pray that my child might have a vocation to serve God in a special way by entering into His holy service.

Freely do I give my child (mention name here) to God, for God freely gave my child to me. And in His all-pervading love for us both, we will be reunited in heaven. Let my child see the true values of living in holy and constant communion with your Divine Son. Encourage in the heart of my child a willingness to bear with any burden in order to love God more faithfully, and to love everyone in the world for God's sake.

Please make my child worthy of a call from God to a special and total dedication to God's family here on earth. I ask this of you, holy mother, only because of my deep lover for your Son. Help me always to be a good example in my home, so that my child can learn how God's love has been ever with us. Amen.

Prayer For A Religious Vocation

O God, who wills not the death of a sinner but rather that he be converted and live. Grant we beseech you through the intercession of the Blessed Mary ever Virgin and all the saints, an increase of laborers for your Church. Laborers with Christ to spend and consume themselves for souls through the same Jesus Christ, your Son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, world without end. Amen.

Prayer For A Son In The Priesthood Or Seminary

Dear blessed mother, you were the mother of the first priest. Now my own son (mention name here) has pledged his life in imitation of Jesus. I will ever be grateful to God for this blessing on our home. It is a joy for me to know that you have been guiding my son through his life so that he would have a generous and pure heart.

I offer my prayers and sacrifices every day that my son will increase in virtue. May he be God's instrument to lead many souls to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to a love of you, the mother of Jesus. Let my son always be loyal to the teaching Church, obedient to his superiors, and sympathetic to anyone in spiritual need.

Teach my son to be patient in adversity, courageous against temptation, chaste in his dedication, and generous in his love for God and the human race. Make me a worthy parent of a child dedicated to God. Amen.

For Religious Vocations

Father, you call all who believe in you to grow perfect in love by following in the footsteps of Christ your Son. May those whom you have chosen to serve you as religious provide by their way a convincing sign of your kingdom for the Church and the whole world. Amen.

For Priestly Vocations

O Lord, my God, You renew the Church in every age by raising up priests outstanding in holiness, living witnesses of Your unchanging love. In Your plan for our salvation You provide shepherds for Your people.

Fill the hearts of young men with the spirit of courage and love that they may answer Your call generously. Give parent the grace to encourage vocations in their family by prayer and good example. 

Raise up worthy priests for Your altars and ardent but gently servants of the Gospel. Give the Church more priests and keep them faithful in their love and service. May many young men choose to serve You by devoting themselves to the service of Your people. Amen.
