God Himself teaches us, How to Pray

The First Book of Psalms

Psalms 1-41

Psalm 2

Why do the nations protest and why do the people grumble in vain?

2 Kings on earth! Rise up and the princes counsel together against the Lord and his anointed:

3 “Let us break their shackles and cast away their chains from us!"

4 The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord will have them in derision.

5 Then shall he speak to them in anger, terrifies them in wrath:

6 "I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain."

7 I will proclaim the decree of the Lord, who said to me, "You are my son; this day I am your father.

8 Only ask it of me, and I will make your inheritance the nations, your possession the utmost parts of the earth.

9 With an iron rod you shall shepherd them, you will shatter them like a clay pot."

10 Be wise now, kings, give heed; take warning, rulers on earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear; and rejoice unto him with reverence.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you perish from the right way in a sudden blaze of anger. Blessed are all who take refuge in God!
