Prayerbook, Subjects of Interest, Being A Parent...

A loving parent never knows peace...I still remember my beloved Mother until the day she left this earth for her just reward, always looked upon all of her children as such...her beloved children.

I also watch the days pass as my own children continue to make their way in this world. I still worry when any of them leave on a trip, pray each day for their safe return, thank God upon their return home safe, and pray for their well-being each and every day.

The following is offered for all the loving parents that know and understand exactly what I mean.

Being a Parent...

Being a parent is never easy,

though it's a role that I hold dear.

Sometimes I may get stuck on the words

that I know you need to hear.

Often I'm plagued with worry,

wondering if you can see,

how much I love you,

how much you'll always mean to me.

You grew so fast;

it seems you're changing every day,

and soon, you'll go out in the world

to pave your own way.

So sometimes this old heart

simply knows no rest,

because I want to give you something

that will help you do your best.

Oh yes, I fret over my answers,

every "yes" and "no,"

and I cry late at night,

because it's so very hard to let you go.

I know I've made mistakes

that I could never mend,

but I'll always be here for you,

both your parent and your friend.
